Eskimo compressor failure — commercial aircon in Olivedale
When a Eskimo system hums then cuts out in Olivedale, the repair starts with capacitor, contactor and winding tests before replacement. Domestic heat pumps with controller and sensor faults. Olivedale borders Douglasdale on our Sandton crossover route, so we can attend from either direction depending on the time of day.

- Undersized upstairs units running continuously without reaching setpoint
- Blocked filters halving airflow in bedrooms
- Outdoor units on first-floor brackets vibrating loose
Olivedale homes are typically double-storey with bedrooms upstairs, and heat rises. We are called out here for upstairs units running flat out and still not coping — sometimes genuinely faulty, often simply undersized for a room that bakes under a tiled roof all afternoon.
