How we repair a Simag ice machine that drops small, hollow or cloudy cubes
Our Malanshof call-out for small or cloudy cubes begins with water quality, scale removal and cycle timing correction. Ice machines fail fastest on Highveld borehole and hard municipal water, so we check water quality, filtration and scale on every visit. Quotes are given in writing before we touch a component, and all work carries a 12-month workmanship guarantee.
- Water inlet valve, pump and float diagnostics
- Descaling and full sanitising of the water circuit
- Harvest cycle, thermostat and probe calibration
- Sealed system: leak trace, vacuum and accurate recharge
- Auger, gearbox and dispenser motor repairs
Malanshof is a settled Randburg pocket of face-brick family homes where most air conditioners were retrofitted years after the house was built. That usually means long pipe runs through roof voids, and long pipe runs are where gas quietly escapes. We pressure test before we recharge anything.
