How we repair a Sharp ice machine that freezes solid on the evaporator
Our Northcliff call-out for freezing up begins with harvest cycle, sensor and charge diagnosis. Ice machines fail fastest on Highveld borehole and hard municipal water, so we check water quality, filtration and scale on every visit. Quotes are given in writing before we touch a component, and all work carries a 12-month workmanship guarantee.
- Water inlet valve, pump and float diagnostics
- Descaling and full sanitising of the water circuit
- Harvest cycle, thermostat and probe calibration
- Sealed system: leak trace, vacuum and accurate recharge
- Auger, gearbox and dispenser motor repairs
Northcliff homes climb the ridge, which means long pipe runs, split-level installations and outdoor units mounted where the afternoon sun hits hardest. Those conditions shorten compressor life, and we see the results: units that cool fine in the morning and give up by three in the afternoon.
