Brema ice machine freezing up — repairs in Fourways
When a Brema ice machine freezes solid on the evaporator in Fourways, the repair starts with harvest cycle, sensor and charge diagnosis. Italian cube machines used in bars and coffee shops. If a newer Fourways unit has failed early, we tell you whether it is an installation defect worth claiming on.
How we repair a Brema ice machine that freezes solid on the evaporator
Our Fourways call-out for freezing up begins with harvest cycle, sensor and charge diagnosis. Ice machines fail fastest on Highveld borehole and hard municipal water, so we check water quality, filtration and scale on every visit. Quotes are given in writing before we touch a component, and all work carries a 12-month workmanship guarantee.
- Water inlet valve, pump and float diagnostics
- Descaling and full sanitising of the water circuit
- Harvest cycle, thermostat and probe calibration
- Sealed system: leak trace, vacuum and accurate recharge
- Auger, gearbox and dispenser motor repairs
Fourways has grown fast, and a lot of its aircon was installed quickly during that growth. We see plenty of newer units failing early because of installation shortcuts rather than age — poor pipe runs, missing insulation and undersized units for big open-plan spaces.
